Essen, October 13, 2008. With immediate effect, Andreas Weuster (40) has joined the Board of Directors at Karstadt Warenhaus GmbH. There he will assume responsibility for Fashion Purchasing.

He succeeds Heinz Thünemann, who now retires from the Board of Directors and the company.

For the last seven years, Andreas Weuster was employed by Galeria Kaufhof GmbH in various managerial positions, most recently as Head of Purchasing at the Galeria Kaufhof-owned Belgian chain of department stores, Galeria Inno. Before that he also held office in managerial positions at C&A and Mensing.
