09.09.2008, 16 Boulevard branches achieve targets and remain in the group

Essen, 9 September 2008. The remaining 16 so-called Portfolio Branches of Karstadt Warenhaus GmbH have a sound future within the company. With this decision the management concluded the project phase well before the set deadline (30 September).

The original 27 Portfolio Branches were charged with the task of further improving their economic competitiveness and processes. Eleven branches were changed to Boulevard Plus branches in March 2008.

Staff, branch managers, local employee representatives and special teams from Karstadt head office have all contributed to the positive development of the remaining 16 branches. Overall, 2,500 staff work in these 16 branches.
