Essen, Germany July 31, 2008. The Karstadt Warenhaus GmbH Supervisory Board made the following resolutions in its meeting today:
Thomas Toepfer (36), previously Head of Group Controlling at ARCANDOR AG, assumes responsibility for the Finances area in the Management Team as of August 1, 2008. In this function, he succeeds Jan-Christoph Maiwaldt (47). Due to the new management situation, Mr. Maiwaldt decided to resign as Karstadt Warenhaus GmbH Managing Director to July 31, 2008. Marco Schöner (40), previously Head of Central Category Management Home & Entertainment, assumes the new area of Hardware Purchasing in the Management Team as of August 1, 2008. Heinz Thünemann (45), Management Team member with responsibility for Purchasing, assumes the newly created Fashion Purchasing area as of August 1, 2008. Peter Diesch, member of the ARCANDOR AG Management Board, becomes Chairman of the Karstadt Warenhaus GmbH Supervisory Board as of August 1, 2008.
