• Germany's largest amateur tournament series goes into the deciding round

Essen, 11 October 2006. After the successful regional finals, the Karstadt Golf Masters, Germany's largest amateur tournament series, is preparing for its final spurt in 2006. Once again the final will be the highlight of the tournament series: The best 37 participants from 52 preliminary tournaments and the intermediate finals will compete in Cyprus at the beginning of December. They will face each other on the "Aphrodite Hills Golf Course", one of the most beautiful golf courses in Europe.

The Karstadt Golf Masters with their more than 6,000 participants are the most popular amateur tournament series in Germany. They consist of the Karstadt Masters, which include 26 tournaments with more than 100 participants each, the 26 tournaments of the Oberpollinger Masters, and the well-known Mö-Trophy. The regional finals in Hanover, Memmingen and Timmendorfer Strand, which were held in co-operation with Maritim Hotels and just finished recently, were well attended. The 37 finalists have been invited by Karstadt to play in Cyprus from 30 November to 4 December to determine the winners of the German tournament in two rounds of 18 holes each.

The final of the Karstadt Golf Masters is supported by renowned sponsors and golf equipment manufacturers. In the coming year the tournament series will celebrate an anniversary: The Karstadt Masters will be held for the tenth time. Registrations can be made at the hosting golf clubs and at mygolf.de.
