The collection of many old products for disposal and the recycling of waste arising at Karstadt protect the environment to a considerable extent and at least partly avoid the use of new resources.

Reducing waste and separating it into more than 25 different categories for its subsequent re-use in in-house processes has special significance when it comes to protecting resources.

When customers buy new products from Karstadt Warenhaus GmbH, our branches take back many old products such as for example old batteries/car batteries, electric and electronic devices from households and offices, refrigerators and freezers, computers, print heads, fluorescent lamps, ink cartridges and mattresses.

Over the past 4 years, Karstadt has voluntarily taken back 12.250 tons of white goods and undertaken specified recycling.
