What can I expect?
The customer is the focal point of any work in the retail sector. You will sit your exam to become a trained retail salesperson after only 18 months and after 3 years you will complete the qualification of certified Assistant Retail Manager.
Soon after the training begins, you will be introduced to the management tasks of a sales department and will soon be given the opportunity to take on responsibility. Parallel to the on the job training you will be taught theoretical knowledge at the Training Centre of the Retail Industry of Lower Saxony BZE in Springe in the areas of product knowledge, visual merchandising, and good management.

What happens when I have completed my degree?
Good assistant retail managers, who have proven themselves in the theoretical and practical aspects of the training, will generally get a permanent position with Karstadt. After having successfully completed your training, you will be prepared for your first position as Deputy Department Manager. If you achieve good results and prove to be suitable for the job, you can take the next step in your career, which is to become the manager of a department.
